THERMAL INSULATION
Metal Co. carries out thermal insulation works. The company has more than 14 years of experience in the field of thermal insulation and has many projects and works with major companies in Egypt in the sectors of industry and petroleum.
Equipment or pipe work with an operating temperature greater than 55°C in case of metallic surfaces and 65°C in the case of non-metallic surfaces should be insulated so that the surface temperature after insulation (cold surface temperature) does not exceed 55°C. It is recognized that temperatures of 60°C or greater will result in extreme discomfort to personnel and therefore a maximum cold surface temperature of 55°C should be considered as prudent. Typical products to be used for applications are calcium Silicate, Ceramic Fibre Blanket, Glass Wool, Perlite, Stone Wool, Rock Wool.
The process of thermal insulation can be defined as the use of materials that have ambient temperature insulating properties, as they contribute to limiting heat leakage and transmission from outside the building to the inside in the summer and in contrast in the winter. In some studies on one of the buildings, it was found that 66% of the electrical energy consumed in the summer is used to cool the building, and most of this energy goes to get rid of the heat gained from the walls and ceilings, hence the importance of thermal insulation. As it plays a major role in reducing the consumption of electricity used for air conditioning purposes, in order to reduce heat leakage through walls and ceilings, which in turn leads to significant energy savings.
